About Speedhound
A free internet speed test that also tells you whether your connection is good for calls, games and streaming.
What it is
Speedhound measures download, upload, ping, jitter and bufferbloat in about 20 seconds, then turns the numbers into plain verdicts for 4K streaming, video calls, gaming and backups. Alongside the test are network tools and home network guides for fixing what the test finds.
How it works
The test runs in your browser against Cloudflare's speed servers. The method, the test phases and the known limits are written down on the methodology page, so you can judge the numbers yourself. Router steps in the guides are checked against vendor documentation and carry a last-verified date.
Free and private
There are no accounts and no sign-up, and results are not stored. See the privacy page for exactly what each tool contacts.
