Privacy
Speedhound has no accounts and does not store your test results or the values you type into its tools.
What is collected
- Page-visit statistics. Speedhound uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. These statistics are anonymous and Google may set cookies for this.
- Standard server logs. Speedhound is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes each request (including your IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Nothing else. Test results stay in your browser. Share links hold the numbers in the link itself, and nothing is saved on a server.
What each tool contacts
- Speed test and bufferbloat test: Cloudflare's speed servers (speed.cloudflare.com). They see your IP address, as any website you visit does.
- What is my IP and IPv6 test: Speedhound's own server for your address and provider, plus ipify.org to check IPv4 and IPv6 separately.
- Ping test by region: public Amazon Web Services endpoints in each region listed on the page.
- DNS lookup: the domain you type is sent to Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 resolver through Speedhound's server.
- Open port checker: Speedhound's server connects to your own public IP address on the port you enter. It cannot be pointed at anyone else's address.
- Wi-Fi QR code and subnet calculator: work entirely in your browser. Your Wi-Fi password is never sent anywhere, and the Wi-Fi QR code page does not load Google Analytics.
