Ping test by region
Latency from you to 17 cloud regions, where many online games host their servers.
Takes about 30 seconds.

Browsers can't send real ICMP pings, so this times small HTTPS requests to each Amazon Web Services region. Results run a little higher than an in-game ping, but the ranking of regions is what matters. A specific game's servers may be in other data centers.
Reading your results
Under 50 ms is great for any game, 50 to 100 ms is good, 100 to 150 ms is playable for slower games, and above that you will notice lag. See what a good ping is. If ping is low here but games still lag when someone else is online, run the bufferbloat test.

Questions
Is this the same as an in-game ping?
Close, but not identical. This measures an HTTPS round trip to each cloud region, which adds a few milliseconds over a game's own ping. It shows which regions are near you and how far away the others are.
Why is my ping high to every region?
Wi-Fi, a busy connection, a VPN or a distant provider route add delay to everything. Test on a cable with other downloads paused, then compare.
